Twice a week, you can chat with Bonnie Kaye and her support group members on Thursday and Sunday evenings at 9:05 p.m. E.S.T. The chats are anonymous, and no one will know who you are unless you decide to disclose the information to the group.
The chats are designed to give women support while they are looking to leave their marriages or those who have left their marriages. They are not for women who want to stay in their marriages. If you are interested in joining the chat, you must first write to Bonnie Kaye and get approved. Bonnie will make sure that the chats are your best source of support or she will refer you to an appropriate source of support.
The chats are held on AOL. Anyone can access them through the FREE AOL Instant Message download.
If you are on AOL, email your name and I will put it on my Buddy List. Put your name on mine. At the time of the chat, I’ll invite you in.
If you are not an AOL member, here are the easy instructions that just take a few minutes:
1. You have to type "AOL Instant Messenger" in your Internet browser.
2. Click into free download REGULAR VERSION — not the express version.
3. You'll have to pick a screen name.
4. Send me the screen name so I can put you on my Buddy List.
5. Put my screen name “Bonkaye” on your Buddy List.
6. After that, I'll send you notices of the chats.
7. If you are on line during the time of the chat, you will see an invitation pop up from me within a few minutes of the time you get on line. If you'd like to join in, just click “go.” If you choose not to chat, ignore it.
8. If you don’t receive an invitation within the first 10 minutes, send me an Instant Message telling me you are waiting to be invited. Sometimes there are computer snags!
9. The chats take place at 9:05 p.m. EST on Thursday and Sunday evenings. The chats last for approximately an hour to an hour-and-a-half. You can be completely anonymous. No one will know the screen name you pick except me.
